Swap advise.
So I have a 91 acura integra with a Non v tec motor. I wanted to get a B18 Vtec head but couldnt find one. So then I found a B20 Vtec full motor for sale for 550.. Would that be a good swap or should I keep lookin for a B18 head?
Yeah It's out of the car... Well now I just found a B18 head for 350. So what would be better idea getting the full B20 motor and swapping it or getting the B18 Vtec head and converting it to Vtec. Also wich would be the easier thing to do? Cause if i swap my B18 non v tec fully for a B20 wont I need alot more stuff to convert it???
what are you asking here?
you said you found a b20 vtec for 550
b20 vtec = b20 block with a vtec head (b18 or b16)
or did you just find a B20?
B20B/Z= non vtec
for a B20 into an ls, you just need to swap over your manifolds from your ls
for B20 V into an ls, you need to wire it for vtec, make sure its the same obd, and run a tuned ECU

B20 VTEC for $550, I'd be highly suspect as to whether that motor is either stolen or poorly assembled, or both.
Read this thread: https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/how-build-%22reliable%22-lsvtec-b20vtec-1676914/
That will give you an idea of what goes into building a reliable LS/VTEC or B20/VTEC engine. Do you really think that could be done for $550? Doubtful.
Also keep in mind that B20 swaps are illegal in California, since they came only in CR-V's, which are considered as "trucks" to the DMV.

i would go lsvtec.. but thats just me .. but if you wanna a more reliable id spend the money and just by a gsr swap if thats a option for you.. but if money is an issue id go lsvtec..

ls vtec can be just as reliable as a gsr. if done improperly, the gsr will become un reliable too. when done right, both engines are potent and have great benefits.
