Default Type R headlights and HID kits...

So awhile back i bought some black headlights for my car. I dont think they are REAL type-r headlights. They are a knock off or Depo brand or something. But they are nice anyway and didn't cost an arm and a leg. My question is this.

Can I buy HID kits and install them on the headlights? The reason I ask is because I bought some replica headlights for my 350z also, and the HID kits couldnt be installed on them.

Also, where can I find REAL OEM fog light kits? All ebays are knock offs. And if the HID bulbs cant be used on replica type-r headlights, where can I get the real deal with both High and low beam HID bulbs?

I bought OEM style headlights with the black housing, and I installed the HID conversion (H4 I think) hi-low xenons from HIDextra.com. Fit fine, work great, and look extremely nice. I drive an EP3 though, not sure if the type R headlights for your car are projectors or what?

They aren't projector. They are OEM style headlights. It never said anything about NOT being HID compliant. But I want to make sure before I drop the cash.

Also, OEM HID fog light kits anyone?

You can try and use TL Hid ballasts. There's a guy I know that has them on his EP3 Type R headlights.

I have knock off black housing DEPO headlights, and I threw some H.I.D's in there just fine. I adjusted the bulb and I'm not blinding any one ..

If you have the OEM Style Sonar or Depo brand which are non-projectors, then you can use the H4 Hi-Lo HID kit which will work the best. 6000k will keep it more white while the 8000k will add a little blue tone to it.
