Getting Aladdin 2000 to turn on my AC/Heater during autostart???
I've got an aladdin alarm in a '99 integra and I'd like to have my AC/Heater turn on whenever the car is auto-started. Does anyone know if this alarm can turn on your AC/Heater when the car is started? Right now it only turns on after I put the key in and turn it. Or can someone tell/help me redo the wiring so that it will turn it on?
thanks
thanks
The installer probably only hooked up the white/black wire at the ignition harness. They need to go in and hook up the solid yellow wire. Yellow controls ac/heater, white/black controls radio, clock, etc. Add a relay for the other wire if your alarm doesn't have a second ignition output.
Thanks, is there any chance you have a diagram? If not, then I'll just take it back to the installer and tell them what you said. I don't want to mess with the warranty.
thanks again

Hmm.... Don't really have a diagram. Depending on if your alarm has a second ignition output or not, you may have to do a little extra wiring. I would take it back to the installer and have them correct it. There is no way your car should have left the bay with that not working. While you are at it, you might to run through all the other features to make sure that they are working (hoodpin, doorpin, brake switch, tach learn, etc). Good luck.
Yep, white/black is the Accessory circuit for most Hondas. Ive seen some Hondas require that the Solid Yellow and Blue/white be powered up for the climate system to work properly.
On those Hondas, the solid yellow gives power to the actual blower motors, the blue/white is for the climate control electronics
Take it back to the person who installed it and get it done, don't mess with anything or they may deny you the warranty if they have one.
Good luck!!!

you dont have to wire anything... that alarm has a delay that waits a preset amount of time after the car is autostarted before it turns all the accessories on.. all you have to do is reprogram the brain so that the delay is no longer there.. if you have your instructions it tells you how to set the delay time..
I personally, have not dealt with the Aladdin unit, but if it does have that feature that can DELAY some circuits for a given amount of time until it turns on, that's great!!!
I think that would be great for the older vehicles that arent as "picky". A remote starter should power up the same circuits as would be powered up by turning the key.
Ive seen some later model cars that trip the check engine light if not all the circuits turn on at the same time. There are so much more modules and advanced electronics in today's vehicles. There is control modules for everything now!!!
Have you let the Aladdin idle your car long enough to see if there is a delay in the heater/ AC circuit?

Wow, I did not know that feature of the aladdin. I'm going to check up on that. And no, I didn't ever wait to see if it ever would turn on. But I do know that it would turn on after I put my key in and turned it.
Hmmm...I'll have to check into that. I hope I don't have to take it back to get re-wired.
edit: I just read the manuel and it says that you just need to preset the a/c controls before you exit the vehicle...it doesn't say anything about it starting after a preset amount of time. So I might have to get it re-wired.
Oh and another thing....do you know if the quick stop feature is available with a manuel transmission?
