Car was towed and wondering if doors unlocked
So my car was towed from a parking lot that I payed to park in. The ticket stub was in the window and when I went to get my car out from the impound, the stub was missing from the dash. I wanted to check the stub for the parking limits.
So my question is, is it possible for the doors to unlock during the towing procedure? Could they have broken into the car and taken the ticket stub just so they can say I didn't pay for parking therefore they could tow my car?

Did you pay cash or use a credit card? If you used a credit card and can prove the charge, I would make a complaint with the parking lot and towing company. Chances are they will blow you off though.
I had a similar experience where a towing company broke into my car. I went to a nightclub in a strip mall and parked in the Barnes and Noble parking lot next door. When I came out to get cash out of my car, it was gone. At the same time the scumbag tow truck guys were breaking into and towing another car. I immediately called 911 and reported it, but the operator blew me off and said let them do their job, and then she hung up on me. At that point I was pissed and could do nothing except retrieve my car!!! So how did I know they broke into my car...well I always pull my parking break and put the car in gear so that it can't be towed unless broken into. When I picked up my car I inspected it and sure enough the paint on the door and innder door were chipped where they forced the wedge in. The following day I made a police report and the police confirmed that they were a dirty towing company with several complaints such as mine, but they could do nothing about it. They told me to call the state agency that regulates towing and file a complaint. I then called and they gave me the towing companies insurance info. So I called and made a claim with their insurance for the damage, and they cut me a check for $1,500.

When your car is towed by the police, you have to expect them to take it to the dirtiest, shadiest, "ghetto"est tow yard they can find.
One time my buddies car got towed roughly 4.5 miles to this tow yard (mind you, there were two other 24hr tow yards within a two mile radius of where he got towed), only to have his satellite radio, gps unit, and three golf clubs stolen.

I went back to the towing company and told them "How does my ticket stub dissapear if my car is in your possession." I told him to call the driver and ask him as to why my car was towed and what he did to my car. Basically he said both excuses, I was in the parking lot past 3am and I had no ticket stub, when I know for a fact I had a ticket stub and that they have no idea what happened to the ticket stub. Still saying that I didn't have one. I think the main reason being they towed my car because I had no ticket stub(when I did) and he just threw out the 3am parking just so I won't pursue it anymore and speak to the owner of the parking lot as to how long I can park until. Basically I was told that there was no ticket stub and they did not remove it.
So afterwards, about a couple hours later I was on the passenger door side of my car and I see scratches by the door which were probably caused by a tool being forced between the door to pry it open and grab the ticket out. At this point I became furious and found legit evidence that they did exactly this and that my car should have never been towed.
What can I do about this? I will file a police report tomorrow. What more do you guys suggest that I do? ken00si, if your in California, do you have the number to the state agency that regulates towing?
