suspension setup on ej1?
im new to the suspension thing and im not gonna lie. Im pretty much clueless on what suspension to get. I would like about a 2.0 inch drop, or more, front and rear, i dont want to have to buy a camber kit, i want to be able to daily drive it at least half decent, and i dont want to spend over 250.
What suspension should i get? lol
its going on an ej1.

If you want to just lower it that's fine, and not to hard, but doing it right will cost more.
You are correct if you just want to take 2"s down that's a lot different then a full custom setup for a race car.
First off what year is your car? Think about how old your shocks are. Most likely your stock shocks are close to 10yrs old. Now think you want to throw on springs that will lower your car at least 2" without changing shocks. How long do you think those shocks will last? Trust me save your $$ wait till you can afford shocks and springs.

Used springs are OK to use but shop around. Shocks I would look at Koni Yellows, bilstein, or Tokico Illumnia's in that order. But to save $$ Koni Strt's or maybe Skunk2 shocks.
I think you should go for it! But, you might need a camber kit because h&r race springs lower the car quite a bit and you are gonna get alot of camber in the rear. But it's more important to get a proper allignment than a camber kit.
would u like to bounce alot, feel like yur back is breaking, feel like car is goin airborne, save some money u can get ebay coilovers cuz i want yur car to ride like ****, dont come complaining back to us about how yur rides crappy
That amount of drop, the tokico blues wouldn't be able to take it. . . . tokico blues are rated a little bit better than kyb gr2's which are like stock replacements
It's all good he's getting everything for $200 that's like getting just the springs. So when they blow hopefully he will have enough $$ for the goods.
Damn I wanted to see how this would turn out. I am picking up another car this friday if all goes well and I wanted to show you what a decently good used set up looked like for about $350.
i had in mind shocks and springs.. i know enough to know the shocks will blow with aftermarket springs. I just dont know what brands are good.. people sell skunk2 coliovers for 150 used, h&r springs for like 100 used. is it ok to buy them used? i found some h&r race springs for 130 used with 2k miles on them.. they look ok, i just need shocks right?
I had Skunk2 sleeve coilovers on my 00 Si and they were pretty rough.
I ended up switching to H&R sports springs and loved them. They rode nice and lowered it perfectly.
Just my .02
