JDM 4-1, Carsound 94006.. Thoughts!
Installed my JDM 4-1 header along with the Carsound 94006 Cat modded by SMSP. Install was a breeze. Used all hand tools and had no problems with any bolts! JDM 4-1 and cat fit like a glove to my Apex-i N1 cat-back. Took 1 hour to install.
First Impressions is that the car is ALOT LOUDER! After listening for rattles and any problems, time to punch it! I must say that VTEC hits much harder and pulls harder!! I can deff feel the HP and Trq gain from 4k to 8.5k! I feel as if money very well spent on these bolt-ons! I got the Cat from Dave at SMSP, he supplied everything I needed and I recieved the cat in 1 day!
I did not use the exhaust adapter b/c i felt he bottleneck was so minor why cut my N1 piping. I must agree that a Header and a Cat on a ITR do help! Can't wait for the cams!!

exactly how i felt after i installed the 4-1. good power gains through out the WHOLE powerband, not just in VTEC. the vtec punch is VERY nice. after i installed the type one exhaust.

so the cat is worth it huh? I went with the Comptech header instead of the JDM ITR one...will i se the same power gains? The comptech header actually made more power in the dyno's i saw..any thoughts please...cause i can get the JDM one...thanks

Man you make me want to get out my tools and instal my same set up accept I got the adapter for the Bpipe just need my buddy to get some time to weld it on for me.

I would say the car is alot louder than before, ummmm a 7 or 8 on a scale of 1- 10. Hard to explain I will try my best to get a sound clip and pics up ASAP!
I also agree, one of the best bangs for your buck. (specially when you get your header used for less than $200, hehe)

Hmmm, maybe it's because I have the AEM LAI (Loud *** Intake), but I didn't notice ANY increase in sound from stock header/cat to the JDM 4-1/Carsound. I also still have my stock ITR cat-back.
I also agree, one of the best bangs for your buck. (specially when you get your header used for less than $200, hehe)

Yes if u are running Stock ITR exhaust I can understand there being no noise difference, but have a N1 and then put the header and cat combo on and it goes from Loud to Race Loud!

that N1 has a really open flow to it, with no cares about volume.. with the header and highflow cat, it just gets louder all around..
the restrictions in the stock catback i'm sure make it tremendously quieter.. but I would also assume that it doesn't have as good of gains..
