Icon2 98 Civic EX

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so ya, I'm not exactly sure if this was the right place to put this thread but I'm doing it anyways So down to business, as you could probably tell I have a 98 EX. I was wondering what would be the best things to start with for mods? I have heard that air intake and exhaust are the easiest and usually what you should start with. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Oh and any suggestions on parts would be nice, keeping in mind I'm on a budget I'm only 17 so this is all a long term process.

actually i own a 98 ex also and i was planning on boosting it but said **** that bc i would rather swap to a b18c (gsr) i havent yet but im going to. bolt ons dont work well at all with this engine so dont waste your time or money, and if you do decide to boost it your going to pay around 1500 to 2000 for all the parts and tuning if u decide to swap your looking at 3500-5000 but your car would last a hell of alot longer than it would if u boosted it, just do your research man

I/H/E are really a waste of money until you have a swap. Save up the cash and do a swap. Parts are cheap right now. You could possibly piece together a good swap for a little over $1,500. I bought a block and head for $800 not long ago. Found a tranny for around $600.

Do it in pieces that way you don't have to drop $5k all at once. It could possibly take you six or more months but it will be worth it in the end.

^^ yes it would.

there is noithing wrong with doing it in stages.... deffinetly when it comes to a motor swap, we all know how expensive they can be.

id say pick a ls motor and b16 or gsr tranny. and swap it in when your ready. or a b16.
remember as you make it faster your going to need to do suspension and brakes.
