Default Suggestions for my new integra GSR

Sup fellas I'm a new member and this is my new car. I just got it handed down to me from my brother. It's a 96 DB8. Its fairly clean inside and outside, except for the front end lol.

I've really kept this car clean but I want to know what kind of maintenance should I be looking at doing since my brother only gave it oil changes and he had it for 7 years. Kept it bone stock btw.

Also I want a few suggestions, what would YOU do to this car. No hatin plz. I'm not looking to spend lots of money on this and I'm not trying to reach 500whp or something. This is a DD and i just want a nice DD.

I recently put on a 98 rear bumper and also in the process of polishing my wheels. I want to replace my front bumper soon and get a new lip too. Any feedback would be appreciated!

thats a D*** nice hand me down. i would start with a really good visual inspection. probable look into replacing belts and timing belt if they have never been replaced along with the basics. spark plugs, plug wires, maybe a coolant flush. pull of the distributor cap and check inside to see if it needs to be replace. o yea last but not least get a helms manual.

A nice hand me down car you got there.

Here's what I would do if I had your car and extra $:
- install a good alarm
- lower it with Koni's and GC's
- replace the whole front end with a JDM front end
- get some "real" wheels but if I want to stay cheap, I'd swap the SI wheels for GSR blades.
- install a nice Greddy or Tanabe exhaust
- upgrade the interior with recaro seats/ITR seats and ITR cf pieces, Mugen/Momo steering wheel, ARC or an ITR shift ****, and more but that's already enough
- as a dd there's no need for turbo but if I had money, mind as well turbo it.
- get it tuned

The list can go on but that's basically what I would want to do.

Why would he get blades if he's spending all that money on a JDM front?

OP if you end up wasting 1000+ easily on the front end, you might as well purchase a decent set of new wheels and tires rather than used blades.

You should replace the front bumper as Ruben19 said as well as those hideous turn signals. Invest in an alarm and a nice suspension set up such as full coilovers (stay away from ebay) or a strut/coilover combo such as koni/GC. Purchase quality parts even if it takes time, they will last longer and save you many headaches. Welcome

^ I hope you know how to read because as stated in my post that it is what I would do. Si wheels are ugly on tegs so I would def swap them for clean blades if I didn't want to drop another grand+ on new wheels. Did you even read the OP's thread? It's a dd. There's no need for full coils. Unless the OP actually wanted to pay more than a grand on good full coilovers.

I hope you read it teggyboy. If it is a DD then what would be the point of spending the cars worth on a JDM front and wheels? Your argument lacks knowledge. You also stated that he wouldn't wanna buy coilovers for a DD yet you said in your first post for him to buy Koni/Ground control setup which is a coilover sleeve with strut setup. That costs the same as a full set of coilovers. He doesn't need to buy silk roads for a daily if that is what your thinking cost over a grand.

F&F Type 1 can be had for much cheaper than $850 CDN

This car actually already has coilovers i dont know what kind though. And i've got a good alarm too with also a hood pin. I'm still debating whether to get 98 front or 94 front.

x2 On this! Performance can wait. First make it reliable and keep everything up to date.

Second that, si wheels looks cool on ej6? 96-up civic hatches/coupes/sedan and JDM one piece lights are way better than 4 froggys. Just my thought.

$750 US dollars for F&F type 1's over GC & Koni's? WTF?!! Spend an extra $100 and you get a custom setup for street and track.

i recommend changing all fluids (oil, tranny, coolant) as well everything listed above
replace all burned out light bulbs
top off power steering, brake, clutch, windshield washer
check your brake pads and rotors
use that as starting point for your preventative maintenance service intervals for the future
was an alignment performed after the coilovers were installed?
u may want to inspect your tires for uneven wear

you want to keep it simple eh? WHat would I do? Get rid of that ridiculous lip. LOL, get a 98+ front type R lips, and finally a clutch. Check ebay for a clutch. Exedy stg 1,
craigslist for their 98+ bumpers. There is always someone selling their bumpers. the one's who went JDM. I would go jdm. It looks nice, but that money could go somewhere else...(Power)suspension? Koni blues, and sk2 lowering springs. should all cost about under a grand...
