im about to buy a 97 integra ls auto it has 127,000 miles on it the guy says the transmission is going out i asked him exactly what it was doing he said it doesnt grind no shavings it just shifts out of gear randomly and wont go back in im suppose to be picking the car up tommorow wondering if anyone knew what the problem is besides it being and automatic was gonna try and buy parts before the stores closed tommorow any help would be great

 

automatics are nice for around town driving but things can wrong internally and create all sorts of problems. as far as what specifically is wrong i couldnt tell you but it definately sounds expensive. be sure to way the cost of a manual conversion to an automatic repair. manuals typically have lower maint. costs.
