maybe the launch.....but the launch isnt going make u drop a whole second though its probably your shifting to and your tires or your car is to slow...

I'm sure it's all about practice.
I know I was the typical "14 second car stuck with a 15 second driver" the first time out. Second trip to the track, I finally got into the 14s.
Next time, I'm going to shoot for at least mid 14s. I might even lower my tire pressure a bit.

Well... if I own a 98 Type R I was probably in my 98 Type R at the races.. right? So with practice think I'll be able to hit mid 14's... ?

My best time (first time 1/4 mile the itr) was 14.7. Im at 14.1 now with 2.2 60's on my P 700z tires.
I think you can work on your technique and get better times, I'm still trying to see what works for me.

Falken Azenis? 24 psi, your 60 foot should be waaaay better, you are probably not revving up enought and the car is bogging cause ive seen like 2.2 60 ft times on stock tires, and those aren't the greatest compared to azenis, some people with 205 azenis have to rev to like 7000 rpms just so they don't bog out lol, try launching alot higher and remember shift right at redline like 8500...
I'm in so cal. hot as weather that day. Highest i revved to was about 4000 rpm.. dropping the clutch.. didn't really feather it.. .dunno.. next time will be better.
HA i knew it, there you go, i can drop the clutch at 4000 with my stock tires on and i will bog like nuts at 29 psi even, i gotta launch at like 5000-5500 to get a good launch, you have to drop higher than that propably, don't worry, next time will be way better try like 6000 and see what happens...
you did better than me at California Speedway the first time i went. i got 15.2 @ 94 as my best
a lil OT - skafia got a little slower trap speed than i did, but his time is .2 better...why is that?
hehe that's the only time i beat tj

Jeez your 60 ft is terrible, thats why his top end is slower and he still beat you...
Also its hot as hell out there, that will affect top end and mph...

its all in the launch. practice launching to lower your 60fts...you can do better than 2.3 in a stock ITR. that should bring your time down a few tenths on a clean run.
don't worry you'll get better as you get more practice ! Practice may be the best mod some can have..!

. Sounds like fun
, get well soon bro
I've pulled a few 14.8s in my 00 Type R at Cali Speedway
I'm 100% stock but my trap was about yours and so was my 60' times...I'll see if I can scan them in
That track is a POS
It's far as fugg away from anything, its hot as hell and the track is about 1200 feet above sea level
I would slip the clutch at about 5500 and that seemed to get me the best times
Letting the car cool down for a long time was also a big help
