Removing Hub on a 4th gen
I need to remove the front passenger hub on my prelude to change some lug studs. I have removed the brake caliper and disc, but now seem to be stuck on the spindle nut. Before I go buy an impact gun to get at it (I cant myself manually torque 150ft/lb), I need to see what else is involved. Will the hub slide right off, off will I have to remove the whole knuckle and get the hub pressed out by a machine shop?
Alo what is involved in removing the knuckle?

to my knowledge you should be able to pull it off once the hub nut is removed, but i'm not 100% sure... on a side note....
when you removed your discs did you have to turn those 2 screws clockwise or counterclockwise?

take wd40 and spray those 2 phillips head nuts. then take a hammer as well as a screwdriver and tap the screw, this will break it loose, they are removed as any regular screw is by going in the counterclockwise direction.
Dunno, if this is too late of a response...
I didn't remove my hub, BUT my knuckle was stuck. The ball joint remover(not the fork!) is needed to slide the knuckle out of the lower arm. Considering you have the same year as mine, it may or may not be as difficult to remove. The spindle nut was a total bitch to get off, I had to resort to using a 1200ft.lb. impact wrench to get the driver's side off.
Try asking dan aka "rocketlude" on aol any indepth tech questions...he's pretty good.

Then you need to have the wheel bearing pressed out, it will not bang out or even budge for that matter. I had a neighbor with a shop do it for me. He managed to not damage the wheel bearing, which was nice.
I've seen people say you can bang out the studs and replace w/o removing the hub. I'd like to get what they're smoking, must be good stuff. No way in hell is that possible on a 4th gen vtec.
I ended up popping the top ball joint first, which was a mistake because I had to support it while I removed both lowers. I used lots of zip ties.
Try to remove them strategically so you don't have the assembly straining on the joints.
