Default Do Quick-Release steering wheel hubs work on OEM steering wheels...???

I've been looking into picking up a NRG quick-release steering wheel hub for my EM1. Part of the reason is for a little added security, the other part being that getting in and out of my Recaros would be much easier with the steering wheel out of the way. My main question is whether or not these quick-release hubs can be used with OEM steering wheels. Can I use an OEM steering wheel, or would I need to go with an aftermarket, non-SRS wheel, like Mugen, Spoon, Nardi, etc? I've got an EK9 CTR wheel right now. Can it work on a quick-release? If anyone knows, or has a similar setup, please let me know. Thanks.

Just give me the ctr, and get a hub and new wheel. I think that is your best option. LOL!

naw, its not possible, unless you modify the spline on the CTR wheel, which is more trouble then its worth and i haven't really seen anyone that has done it, just one person, but no other. It's because the nrg quick release requires 6 screws that bolt the wheel to the release. Just look into getting an aftermarket steering wheel, like Nardi, Persona, Momo, sparco, etc. cheaper and easier way to go. If you're worried about air bag, o well, i drove a 90 camry that had no air bag for 7 years before i got my hatch haha.

you need an aftermarket steering wheel compatible with the NRG quick release, i have a full NRG kit, hub adapter, second generation quick release hub, NRG pilota steering wheel, and for added security i got the hub lock so no one can slap on their own steering wheel. If you buy it brand new it costs around $450-$550 for everything. But to answer your question no you can't use an oem steering wheel. Theres benefits for the quick release and downsides. benefit is security and more movement space when you remove the steering wheel. Downside is you lose an airbag and my horn doesn't work lol my NRG horn button is for looks but i still use it as a stress button.... >.<
