taking a trip and need some help
so im goin on like a 3 hour drive down to L.A but im not so sure that my car will make it,especially trough some mountains i gotta get through.this guy i know told me to take off the thermostat to help not overheating.does anyone know if that will help at all?

What is the current condition of the car and motor. I havent heard of taking out the thermostat to help from overheating but to me that sounds like a bad idea.
well its in a descent condition,it does have 189,000 miles on there though.
i was thinkin of changing the t-belt and water pump and the oil and putting anti-freeze instead of water

Yeah, if you are talking about taking I-5 North through the Grapevine and into the Central Valley I think you'll be fine. From Castaic through the mountain pass shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. The rest I'm sure is just flat-land driving.
