Default DIY: Replace power steering hose (Pressure)

My pressure power steering hose is leaking so it's time to replace it. I didn't know how simple this job is but a lot of repair shop want to charge 2 hours (Approximately $180 after tax) to replace this freaking hose. While you're at it, I suggest you replace the return line of the power steering as well, it's really cheap & easy. But anyway here's the guide for the Pressure hose replacement.

Tools needed:
- 10mm Socket & Extension
- Ratchet
- 14mm Metric Flare nut Wrench
- 9/16 Standard Flare nut Wrench (the new hose from autozone uses 9/16 instead of 14mm)
- Adjustable wrench (not in picture)

Jack up the car

Remove these 2 bolts (10mm)

Remove all bracket holding the hose (10mm) Not in this picture because I've already removed them and thrown them away. You can reuse them if you bought the rubber bushings for the new hose, if not do what I did and throw them away :dunno420:

Unplug the sensor, There's another bracket holding the line around there, you'll need an extension to remove the 10mm bolt (or crawl under the car and feel where the bolt is get it from there, I've removed it and thrown it away as I didn't buy the new rubber bushing for the bracket.

Now crawl under the car and use your 14mm flare nut wrench to remove this bolt.

With the old Power steering hose out, use an adjustable wrench and remove the old sensor & put it into the new hose.

Install new hose in reverse order & you're done!!

Here's the old & leaking hose for reference.

good job. i had to do this last year when i recovered my car, for some reason the feed line was leaking. you ABSOLUTELY need a line wrech to remove that nut, i'll vouch for that.
