Default Decision on new AP1 purchase

Kinda stuck here.

I have the chance to buy a bone stock ap1 with rediculously low miles (15K) for slightly over ten.

Problem is that I hate the color...but these are already on the way to becoming classics. I have wanted one since I first saw one and now I can afford one.

I wouldn't be 100% happy with the car. This is my#1 concern but I'm thinking I could sell it and make a profit and then get either a nice white ap1 or ap2, my first color choice. Or any other color. Did they even make white ap1s?

Well in perspective, I have enough to eat, a roof over my head and I have a job. Im greatful that this is the scope of my problems.

ok first of all what color is it??? As long as its not suzuka Id prolly jump on it... and as you said, you could always sell it later down the road and either break even or perhaps make a profit...

when choosing my S, i was extremely picky and made sure I met all of my criteria... Not to throw it in your face, but at the time my car was almost 3 times the price out the door... But since your not spending that much money I wouldnt be as picky... I mean if you absolutely hate the color, then def dont get it... but if you could live with it, i would say go for it... 10K is still a lot of money to most people, but not on an S...

If the title is clean I'd go for it. Make sure there's no mechanical issues and that it wasn't abused for the 15k it was driven. If it checks out ok buy it. Like you said if you want a different one sell that one for a few k more and get the one you want. Especially if you have the funds to kinda play around with.

fixed.

$10k seems like a pretty good deal on that ride. Is it the original owner? I cannot imagine more than one person owning that car in 8 years and not putting more than 15k on it.

Good luck!

Its red. Im not a fan of red ones. No offence if y'all have a red ones, just not for me.

There is also another one avail w/ 30k mileage but it has had four owners already. That worries me. Either there's somehting up with it-lemon. Or it was barely driven and babied by all 4 prev owners (yeah right)

Gonna try and look @ the red on tomorrow. I will have an s2k in the next 2 months regardless. Wanted one since I first found out about them 9 years ago.

it took me 6 yrs to discover the S and 2.5 yrs later to have one in my garage.. Best thing about it was I was able to trade up for it and thus did not cost me much..

(Parted my turbo hatch and made enough to buy an AP2)

Don't settle for something less then what you really want. Also consider the big differences between the 00-01's and 02-03's.

I say go for it. I was dead set on finding a berlina black till I looked at a Silverstone in person and actually drove it. I love that color now.

You dont like RED? SILVER AND YELLOW are the Ugly and Played out colors. I just sold my 02 NFR with OEM hardtop. Red and White are prob the cleanest colors. If you dont get it give me the info ill go buy it im looking for another one at the moment

My advice - don't buy something unless you're going to be 100% happy with it. This sounds like a great deal, but save your money for your dream car.

red and black are the best color combo imho for most sports cars. the s2k is no exception.

Honestly, I think a lot of people buy them as a weekend toy, and end up selling them after a year or two when they see how much it costs them to keep it, and how little they use it.

^^^ true... but now with this economy, if you make decent money, you can easily have an S as a toy car and a nice DD... i kind of wish i waited until now, but who would have guessed that we'd be in this situation... if i tried selling my car now, id barely make anything back on my loan... would be a total loss... so for now ill just keep it, make the insane payments (~$485 a month) and just hope our economy gets out of the *******...

i was and am in the same situation - i wanted an ap1 with good mileage and good price - but my MAJOR concern was that it be berlina black. i test drove a couple of them in red and silverstone and they were good deals....i thought all night to act on them but knew i wouldnt be 100% happy - even if i choose to get it painted.....which i wouldnt do because its so expensive.

i finally found a black one for a good deal.
if your going to spend 10k (which i am)......thats a lot to spend....you should be spending it on EXACTLY what you want.

+ keep in mind, you think you can flip that car that easily.....but right now and for QUITE some time....its going to be a buyers market....not in the sellers favor. the car will sit around for quite some time man.
