I've been searching for awhile now and cant find nothin...so how do check if i have lsd? I jacked it up front put the car in gear spin one wheel and the other moves with it but in the opposite direction? civic with b18b!with ls tranny just got the car dude says has lsd! thanks!

 

I am kinda a noob but.. one thing to look for is the lsd stamp.. the other way i kno is when the tranny is off there should be a hole going through the tranny (im a noob so i dont know what its called lol) if its not a lsd tranny there with will a small bar going acrossed the hole. if it is an lsd tranny should be able to see through it with nothing blocking your view... if you search a lil better you should be able to find someone that has covered this a lil better..or at least a pic

 

take out the axles...if you can see straight threw it is an lsd. If there is a rod than it is an open diff or non-lsd trans.

 

is there any way to check with out it taken it out? I guess i could do a burn out huh? and look for 2 marks?

 

this is not accurate as an open diff will drive both tires on a flat surface. either look for LSD in black on the case or pull the axle.
