whats up guys i've been shopping around for another beater bike and i think i found a good deal but i'm not sure. its got 5k miles/salvage title and he wants $1800 for it. short story is he let his friend ride it(u already know how this goes)and this is what happened. landed on the front forks and then flipped and landed on the tail according to him. i don't know why but my main concern is the swingarm if u look at the shock in the first picture it looks misaligned but what do i know? what do you guys think? i think i "might" be able to put it back on the street with less than $800?

That thing is junked. The way the forks are tweaked so hard makes me think the frame has to be facked too. You're going to need closer to $1500 to get that thing back to rideable form...and that's if the frame is still OK. Take your money and run, man.

The wheels are likely bent as well. The right mid fairing looks like a cheap rattle-can job, too. It probably has been down before the big go-down. I feel bad looking at that thing.

 

Really? I really didnt mind the condition of the fairings so much I just wanted to have a fairly recent model crotch rocket I could flog and eventually track. the frame being questionable does concern me a lot now though. is it even worth $1000?

 

700-800 max. the bikes done so you will be looking for all new parts, frame, sub frame forks, triple clamp etc etc

 

yeah i'd walk away. 1800 is too much.

you could buy my friend's clean titled 03-04 (needs street plastics, lights) for $2000 instead, and spend $500 on some ebay chinese fairings.

 

walk way unless you can get a cheap replacement frame and get this bike for no more than 1k-1200 bucks.

 

Thnx for the input everyone. I realize now that I would have been way over my head. I'd have to commit god knows how many hrs scraping it back together with tools I don't all together have.. and all I know about is my 636
