im trying to replace the valve seals on my 1996 acura integra ls and bought a valve spring compressor tool from pep boys but it wont fit cause i guess its for a bigger motor will this tool work on my motor or is it just for vtec http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/valve...5%7C240%3A1318

Basically, I put a rag under the valves I'm working on, use my 17mm socket and a hammer to break the keepers loose, do whatever I'm doing, put the rag back under, put the spring, retainer, and keepers in place, then press down and they lock in place every time

 

does that tool work with the head on the car?

 

Yeah that tool you bought is for VTEC heads with the valve spring retainers farther down in the head.

Hey i got this tool to install my dual valve springs and retainers in my ls head. it kinda worked to pop out some of them but wont fit in some areas because it hits side of head. i made the rest come out with a 17 socket but i cant get it to reinstall. how do you make that work???? oh ya im talking about the second tool posted from skyway tools on ebay.

 

i just made a tool but i also work in a machine shop lol...

 

Alright after buyin three different tools my girlfriend told me her uncle has a shop. i gave him a call and hes gonna do it for free and clean up the head get it all polished. just gotta drive 2 hours, but well worth the drive. thanx anyways
