i need a cheap wide band o2 sensor for my manual civic hx. $400 is just crazy. im willing to get one thats universal just and long as i can match the wires some how. does anyone know where i can get this. i saw some Bosch AEM ones for a wide band air fuel meter only $70. if there is a way to make that work I'm game.

Try rockauto.com and search for Denso 2345052. I just bought one from them and it cost little under $170.00 with shipping. This is upstream O2 sensor on bank 1 for manual trans. Auto is cheaper and Down stream is cheaper. if you got the P1164 check engine code, universal won't work. your check engine light won't go off and you can't pass the SMOG. trust me and I have tried with 2 other 5 wire sensors from Dephi and Bosch. Denso is Honda's OEM. I have just saved at least of week worth of your headache

Folks, I have a 2000 Civic HX and I got my first P1163 at around 60,000. Reset the CEL and didn't see it again until about 118k. Reset it again and it started appearing daily. Replaced the upstream factory original NGK sensor with a Delphi, and am now getting daily P1164s (several times a day) and the occasional P1163. In addition to the codes, I am noticing the occasional hesitation/hiccup in acceleration under load, which didn't really occur before. While some of the FF data is in range for TSB00-0028 (ECT and Engine RPM and vehicle speed, the TPS has never been in the 3-7 degree range specified. Mine are all at 9.8% (which I think is an idle setting)? All my FFs have also been very close in Calc Load (17.2 or 18%) and MAP (5 or 5.3 inHG). Coincidence?
Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions!

I meant NTK and not NGK for the upstream O2 sensor on my 2000 Civic HX. I am assuming it is NTK part 24300. While many OE parts on my HX are Denso, the O2 sensors are definitely NTK. The Delphi part I am trying to use as a cheaper alternative replacement for the sensor is DELPHI Part # ES10751. Is the Delphi part simply not going to work in my application? You're sure the Denso will, or should I spend more and get the NTK? I have not changed the ECU, and have not carefully examined my exhaust manifold for possible leaks...

Replaced the Delphi with NTK 24300 from OxygenSensor.net (BarMac Auto) which ran about $169 or $189 (sorry don't have receipt in front of me). It was about $20 more than the Denso part recommended by k95670, but it is also the OEM part that I took of my HX. Cleared the DTC and so far, no repeats of P1194 or P1193 -- which I was getting multiple times daily with the Delphi sensor. Keeping my fingers crossed, but am cautiously optimistic this is going to do it!
