On my friends 91 ef hatch ls swap i got on it and after that the alternator belt was loose and made sqeaking noises. So we looked and the belt on alternator was worn and loose so we cut the belt off and the car still starts and all electronics work on it and my battery light is on, any suggestions to this? so it still starts and everything but shuts down after a while

uhhh, put a new belt back on. you'll kill the battery driving around without it.

 

your gonna mess some stuff up if you try to run it to long with out a belt. Sure its running but the battery is not charging. and nothing else is turning it. I don't know Was this really worth a post? Clean the pullies before you put a new belt on and make sure its adjusted to the right spot and it should not sqeek.

 

loosen the tension, put on a new belt

 

Give the car away and ride the bus.
