just go up to him and say $2500.. take it or leave it.. but that's only fi you really dont care to buy it. if you do.. then act like it first.. then if he doesnt, get down on yr knees and give him a *******.

Also do I need to get down on my knees? Can I do it standing up? I am 5'10" by the way.
Thanks for the info,
check under for leaks, ask for records for the head gasket, timing belt and water pump, valve adjustment and just look for chit to nit pick at.
somethings to look for..
rust on quarter panels
oil leaks on head
oil leaks around oil pan
high miles
find out when service was done and how often, ask for receipts
when was clutch replaced
timing belt, 150 is almost time for a new one agian if not done already
dont pay more than 3000 for it tho.. if he doesnt go for 2500 ask for 2700

Just tell him its a 92 CX w/ 150k milesfor goodness sakes, its not worth more than $2500 in great shape. And if possible just offer cash, that usually works too.

A 92 CX still books for around $3600. With all the little things you could probably find wrong, $2500 sounds great.
if the guy doesn't know **** about his car, start jivin' about CV joints and how the axles will need to be replaced. tell him everything he's ever wanted to hear about brake fade and make it sound like the performance nightmare that it is. check the hatch lining for leaks. the clutch is ALWAYS about to go. bitch about power steering being sloppy, and if it's not there at all, bitch about that. bring a "modified" printout of a kbb report on the EG so you can lowball 'em to death.
good luck wringing this bizniatch out

What the HELL??!!!!!!
I didn't know this but apparently the CX has no power steering? Dude, that is messed up!!!!!
I drove the car around and gave the guy pretty much all the stuff you guys said.
He said" WOW!! You know so much about this car!@!!!!! I don't know anyhting about it....
Anyway, I told the guy it has many problems I am going to have to fix and that his price of $3100 is too much. I told him that I will make him a cash offer in a few days because I need to look at my other options...
He said" Just bring me the cash!!!"
The car has a leather/vinyl interior.. Are all CXs like that?
Also the steering ffelt heavy..(of course it did) and the mufller is prety dead....
Question: If I buy a nice exhaust for the stock motor will it fit with any B series motor later on?
Thanks guys,
Nikos

the exhaust is made to fit the chassis not the motor. when/ if you stick a b series you will need to get a pipe to fill in the gap from the cat to the exhaust.
when checking a use car ..the oil should be a dark but not gritty..shouldnt be any bubbles in the oil either..the codlant should be a green or blue without any evidence of rust, should nt be gritty either..check the condition of all the hoses..if they re dried out consider the condition of ur fuel lines or anything wear a protective of rubber is used..they re probably worn also and eventually need replacing..check the exhaust for any rust or oil..if the suspension hasnt been work d on chances ur going to need shocks soon..these are few items to look for in buying a car..but if notice rust, chances are there s alot more u can t see and if there s rust in the radiator or bubbles in the oil..dont buy it , ...period
You could definetly get that for $2500. People always jack the price like $500 more than they actually want to get for it...
Like someone said earlier. Just tell him $2500 cash and it's as good as yours...

Update:
I just talked to the guy who is selling it on the phone...
Offered him $2700 and he said no. He wants $2950 for it. So I said.....
later!!!!!
Sorry but I cannot pay $3000 for a CX without powersteering and 150K miles.
