Tech Help Please, 1990 Civic DX won't start
Hi There,
I have a 1990 Honda civic DX it starts but won't run.
We originally thought it was fuel pump, and called Honda which said that the main relay to the pump was common to go and it's not to expensive, we're going to replace that. But after further diagnosing it seems that we have plenty of fuel up at the rail.
We checked spark and all seem to have good spark except for one cylinder which had a white weak spark. Could it be something in my distributor?
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
Melissa

If one plug is showing white but the other do not, that cylinder is usually running too lean or has a ton of buildup on it and may need replaced, which plug shows white on it? Have you replaced that spark plug? Usually when the plugs get old they start building up white crap on them, my CRX was misfiring before and I had pulled out the plugs, so I replaced them and it ran just fine.
The timing might be incorrect as well if replacing the plugs doesn't seem to do anything.

Hi dephtone,
Thanks for the help, yes, new plugs, new wires, fuel filter, valve cover gasket,
so far we've narrowed it down to the distributor, this morning we had no spark, then we pulled one of the plugs while we were firing and it started. I'm assuming it may be a crank angle sensor, or the pick up in the distributor, I'm going to try a new one in the morning. Thanks
