A friend of mine has a 94 civic ex (D16Z6) I gave him a b16 throttle body that I had laying around. He installed it with a new b16 throttle body gasket adjusted everything as soon as it was installed his idle was smooth for the 1st 2 days and now his idle is at 100-200 rmps. Im having the same problem with my brothers 93 integra that just got a b18b long block swapped in. What are we doing wrong and what should we look for?
If your car is equipped with an Idle Air Control valve (IAC) make sure it is working properly. Go back and redo the entire idle speed adjustment procedure from step 1.

Do not adjust the screw/nut that NAcoupeNA is talking about. It's preset from the factory to keep the throttle plate from returning to a 'fully seated' position (which would round out the bore and cause a perma-vac leak)...and also effects TPS output (which also has an effect on the idle).

Since you mentioned this... my friend who has the d16z6 that just swapped in the b16 throttle body on his motor he would have to adjust the tps as if it was a b16? And for the guy that mentioned about the iacv, we tried cleaning it out on both cars and problem still remains. I will try to get the tps adjusted when I get a chance and see what happens.

I have an a6 block with a z6 head, and after I did the swap I have been having idle problems at startup every once in a while. Usually if I give it a tap of the gas it will settle back to normal...
