okay i got a 94 civic hatch and im trying to primer it
i bought a whole new front end thats primered black so i was wondering if i primered my body grey so when i paint my car will my front look darker than my body?
also what paint should i paint my car?any color pearl? i dont want blue cuz thats my previous haha

couple loose ends here, what primer are you using, any body repair done?

 

well none because i dont know which primer is good or bad....yea did some bondo body filler lol

 

if you are afraid it will affect the color.. then why wont you just re-primer the frontend too?

seal the whole car before you paint that way its all one color

 

The sealer works, if it provides good coverage. If you want it perfectly flat, go over the whole car with a 2k primer, then block it down, that way it'll all be the same color, then seal it, then paint it.

Some of the custom paint manufacturers recommend going with the same brand paint and primer. It doesn't matter all too much, in terms of adhesion, as long as the primer is fully cured (with a catalyst) and prepared appropriately.

 

would you guys suggest doing this outside? Im not looking to make the car look spotless cause it's going to be a flat army green anyway.
