Default New Clutch - Clutch Slipping in 5th

Hello experts,

First time posting but long time reader. I have a 2003 civic lx. I recently heard a bit of a grinding sound when l would sit idle after a long highway trip. It turned out there was a throw bearing that was worn out and the mechanic said ok replace the clutch, these bearings would replace with it and to sand down the flywheel. Great 1100 bucks later, now l'm driving the car and I managed to drive the car 300 miles with no problems. Today I took it out for a 20 mile highway drive, and the car while driving in 5th about 70mph/120kmh just dropped into neutral. Then I tested it with cruise control on and it slipped again after a while and this time the rpm's just started revving up, I was prepared and hit cancel. But this is only happening in 5th gear. Does anybody have any ideas what it could have been ? I'm ready to ring this mechanics neck.

Thanks,
