I'm having a shop mesasure, check, assemble, and balance the bottom end of my B16 For Boost. My question is, to balance the crank, do they need my flywheel, clutch, crank pulley etc to do so?
I think its best to get the whole rotating assembly balanced. If the engine is balanced but a flywheel for example is well out, it rattles the **** out the bottom end at certain revs! So IMO yes mate.
man i have 2 b18a1 cranks i got done at wats shop.com he is the same guy that does t1's cranks. With a decent aftermarket flywheel you should be alright. but your best bet is to invest in a good harmonic balancer,i am running a ati super dampener and love it, my car sees 10k pretty often even though my head wont really make power after 8800. i built the block to handle my lead foot not really to be a na monster. before that i was spinning bearings pretty often
