b18b1 into a 92 Teg
So Im not too familiar with the b series motors are everything. Ive only messed with H swaps so Im comin here to ask you all.
I have a 4 door 92 Teg (manual) with 254,xxx miles on it with original motor. Motor runs fine but does leak which is expected b/c of the miles and Im drivin it until it decides to go b/c I love the 38 mpg! Lol
Anyway.....question would be what all would I have to change/wire/whatever to put a newer b18b1 motor instead of huntin down a decent b18a1?

First you should know that the motor itself (long block) is essentially the same (perhaps some differences in the pistions & cam profiles, but overall the same).
You can even use a OBDII B18b long block and it'll be the same.
The differences are in the sensors, fuel injectors, etc.
So what you would need to do is strip down your stock engine and put those parts on the replacement motor. As long as the new motor has your stock intake manifold, alternator, fuel injectors, distributor, coolant sensors, etc then it'll run fine and it'll all be plug and play.
You can even use a OBDII B18b long block and it'll be the same.

Yup, if you pull all the sensors and especially your intake manifold (it has a bunch of vacuum lines not found on newer engines) and install on the new motor, you'll be good to go.
It also works the opposite too, installin the A1 motor into a newer Integra.

It mainly depends whether you use an obd1 or obd2 b18b1. I would try to find the obd1. You can use your current ecu. You would need to use your current a/c bracket, crank pulley, drivers side motor mount bracket(the part that is already bolted to the engine). If you use your current intake manifold, you will also need to use your current thermostat housing because of the fast idle valve. I put a b18b1 in my 92 a couple months ago so I know what it takes. If I'm leaving anything out, I'll post back.
Oh, and you can use your current wiring harness too but there will be one extra plug. Just leave it hanging.

im not positive, but if it is an obd-2 engine, you might need to swap over just the intake manifold along with the injectors and fuel rail. I'm not sure if they have different sensors and plugs on the engine block itself. If they dont, then just swap over the intake manifold and injectors. OBD-1 is 92-95. If you use a obd-1 b18b1, everything will work with your ecu.

No, you shouldnt need to swap any ecu - even to a OBDII ecu - if you keep all the stock sensors. Everything should bolt on, so you can keep your stock wiring configuration.
B20, at least in the US, are all OBDII.

if you get a b20, you are gonna have to use the intake manifold from the b18 along with the injectors and fuel rail. The fuel injection is that main part of the swap that needs to be the same as the original
I have a 93 Teg and i put a fully rebuilt 98 B18b1 in there. Didnt mess with any of the wiring just used my old TB and and it was fine. Get the Mounts for a 93 Teg theyll fit just fine and i rebuild my YS1 Trans cause u need to keep it cable with out the adapter. Your car is ob1 which is fine just use the same dizzy. Everything else is the same i dont even have a check engine light.

and i should be good to go right?
