Icon2 Aftermarket Horn

I know a lot of people in the Subie world change out their horns. Probably mostly for looks but that's not the point of this.

I don't hear of honda owners replacing their factory horns for a louder aftermarket one. Why is this?

For looks? I can't even see the horn?

I changed mine out in my old Integra, ITR and S2000. I really didn't like the "beep beep" sound and wanted to have a real car horn. It's really easy to do. All you have to do is go to Pepboys or whatever, get horns that are shaped like....horns (the OEM ones are like discs).

There are usually two (low and high tone). Cut the stock horn, splice the new ones on, and you're done.

But the stock horns do their job. Just sounds a bit wimpy is all.

It's pretty loud. Comparable to a Ford truck or BMW horn. It does depend on where you mount it and how you point it, though.

All kidding aside from the air horns, one thing that sucks about them is the 1/2 second delay. I had some (a bit milder version than above) and it always annoyed me that there was that delay from when I press the horn button and when the horn actually went off. It's like being just a little too late in a comeback---doesn't have the same effect. :D

I changed mine twice already, 3 years ago i installed a BOSCH Supertone horn that was so loud. Very good for the factory alarm. I went home to the Phils last month and the trend there was those airhorns. So i brought back some Bosch Mini Fanfare horns, I just installed it two days ago
