car is shaking bad
ok heres another messed up thing happening to me ..i put my car together about a month or so now i put wheels on it last week and one of the rims were flat ..so i took the car around the block with the flat and it felt/sounded like my wheel was gna fall off..i filled it up and still the same thing. so i bought new rims (with new tires) today and i put them on my car and still the same thing..it feels like the tires is gna fall offf wen im goin rolling and wen i speed up it get worse ..my suspension is tight , ball joint are good could it be the drivetrain?
make sure everything is tight....if it still does it, my advice would be to take it into a shop let them check it out...also check the axles even thou they are new...you nvr know something could have happened....
yea my suspension is good ball joints are good ..i cant even push the wheel back and fourth standing infront of it..ill check the axels but i doubt thats the problem
so, if im reading this right, was the car sitting long enough that the tire went flat?
if so, you might have bad wheel bearings. bad bearings would cause the shaking that your talking about. i had some shakes from my drivers side, replaced the wheel bearings and its alllll gooooood now.

yea the car was sitting for a while but i thought it was a bent rim or a bubble on the tires so i bought new rims with brand new tires..as for the brakes there brand new also..im gna check both axels again even tho they new too
Yeah, autozone is horrible for getting some parts even though they have a lifetime warranty. I guess it's a good deal if you don't mind replacing parts numerous times or having faulty products out of the box. I hear a lot of autozones get returns like spark plug wires that are faulty but they get thrown back on the shelf.
If the axels are new, where did you purchase? I understand from most threads I've read with axel replacements say that ones from auto zone are slightly short and won't function correctly.
Have you replaced the Rotors, because even new ones can be warped...if you get cheap O.E. replacements. Does this effect happen when you brake??? or is just during accelleration and cruising???

yes the axles from autozone are shorter. i am dealing with an axle probelm on my car. it shakes but only at higher rpm. i would take them back and get some from an after market axle company not from a parts store

Axle length is determined by where the small end of the inner CV boot is clamped around the axle shaft. The tripod bearings on the axle shaft can slide axially inside the boot cup, so the boot is what sets the length. It's not a big deal if it's an inch or so too short when off the car. The boot will stretch to compensate.
What usually causes massive vibrations during acceleration is loose tolerance between those tripod joints and the slots inside the joint cup. If there is ANY radial freeplay whatsoever between the axle shaft and the joint cup, you'll get those huge vibrations under load, but they should go away as soon as you close the throttle.
