Ive been having some cluster problems as ive been playing with the needle too much.

Anyways i dont remember what my 1st and 2nd limit me up too

my 1st takes me up too 40 (seems right) Redlining with a d16 non vtec

second up too about 70...70 seems a lil high.

is it my cluster acting weird or does this sounds about right??

what trans?

 

I shift at 3k and 1st takes me to 10 mph, 2nd to 25, 3rd to 40 and so on

 

Without knowing what motor and transmission you running, and what RPM you're shifting at. . . we can't even give you a ballpark guess on mph.

Did you take the needles off by chance?

 

get a gps receiver from someone, and use it to see your actual speed, or use that calculator I posted and enter your information, and enter like 4000 rpm and see how many mph it says, and then go for a drive and see whats up

the answer to your question comes down to 2 things, gear ratios and rpm.

so without telling people what gearbox you have or your shifting rpm people can only guess.

at least post the model of your car if you dont know what tranny you have.

 

I've read on here somewhere that when you pop the needle off it messes the calibration up, so I have never done it. This could be your problem.

 

well if you read up top before posting useless comments ive stated i have a d16 non vtec with makes my motor a d16y7 with a y7 tranny.

and its bolded up top that im REDLINING 1st and 2nd.

 

has a redline of 6900

Sounds like the speedo needs to be calibrated.

 

D16a6 doesn't have VTEC. And you edited the REDLINING part way after your post

 

i got my sisters gps and matched the two, my speed was off by 1 or two just like any other car, but while i was jamming hard i still noticed that im redlining 2nd gear and am able to hit 70 at the end of 2nd...any help
