Well they would be much better than stock, but obviously not as good as more expensive ones. And after a while they start to look like crap. But you should still get them.

so i got the ebay headers, and they looked great, within an hour they started to turn gold and blue, like this,
,
which in my opinion, look even better, but they came up a little short, i had to force the cat to attach to the headers which caused my tip to do this
,
so what can i do to fix this?

Cut the flange off of something, reposition the exhaust better, and then reweld it back on. There's really nothing else you can do.

if you got money to blow... spend it on a nice header. If you dont...go used or ebay lol. its no biggie. put your own system together.

my catback on my del sol did the same thing

fix was loosening all the bolts, but leave the nuts threaded, and slowly tighten all of them, going back and forth. I replaced the crappy ebay gaskets with some of that "cut-your-own" stuff you get at autozone. its thicker, and helped make upf or the short length. It doesnt rattle the heat shields anymore at least. it is still kinda tight and slightly off center, but its ok for me.

other option, cut the piping and have a shop extend it a bit.

There's a site around somewhere where a guy compared headers. One was a cheap eBay header, another the stock header and finally a DC Sports or some more expensive one. The cheapo and expensive one performed about the same on the top end, but midrange was better on the expensive one. If you compare two side by side, the eBay headers have sharper bends.

hey man, those look nice, and i'm on a low budget too. i don't want to spend much at all for headers, but my exhaust manifold is cracked. can you give me a reference for what you got? the price is right for me, and they look nice.

i looked on ebay but couldn't find anything for d16y8, maybe i was being too specific? i don't know much, all i know is that i'm on the hunt for cheap headers - my mechanic told me to get some because my exahust manifold is cracked.

can anyone help me with some options? is there only one specific type that will fit d16y8, or is it all the same for the D series?

i'm working on a 98' civic coupe.

by the way, when it comes to shelling out the extra money for "name brand" ****, IMO, cheaper is usually better. don't believe the hype, because that's all it is most of the time without clear-cut irrefutable evidence, which in most cases, doesn't exist. all things are sold in tiers to fit different budgets. and some things have been around for such a long time, that they can now be so easily made and refined and sold cheap. but, just because something is sold cheap doesn't mean it necessarily is of a lesser quality; it just gets branded "cheap"... by who else? their competitors, who would like to stay in the industry for a long time bringing in the same and consistent profits with a monopoly on the industry. that's not progress, that's restraint.

btw, i used to have DC headers on my RSX type-s. nothing special. they started looking like **** just as well. and in the end, all the money spent on "name brand" **** came right out of my *** because my headers along with the entire rest of the car got stolen.

my new motto - cheap as hell - because it won't last anyway.

i bought an ebay one for 100bux a long time ago its lasted for 5 yrs now n no rust but the bolts that hold it together. if u used stainless u wouldnt even have that problem. buying a exspensive cd header or something would be pointless because ur not gonna make any real hp from it.
