JDM h22 swap not starting
Im trying to start my h22 but it wont turn over. I swapped in a jdm h22 for a h23 and everything is connected, starter works and motor tries to start but wont turn over. the motor came from a shop that steam cleans their engines and when i took off the dizzy some water came out.
could it be that water is affecting the spark?
also i used a 30amp blade fuse to ground out my external ignition coil cuz the jdm h22 has internal one... any help is appreciated.

Something similar happened to my jdm h22a swap. It turned out to be the internal coil in the distributor. You can test to see if its good using a multimeter. The test is in the helms manual. My secondary coil was reading 11 ohms and the spec said 14-22 ohms. I changed the coil and she fired right up. You can buy a new one at autozone for $75 made by duralast if you test yours and its out of spec. Oh yeah, if you go to the local parts store, you have to ask for 2001 civic SI distributor stuff, like cap, rotor and coil.
I replaced my whole distributor. i bought the h23 dist., new cap, new rotor, and i'm using my external ignition setup like the h23 was. you think i should have bought a dist. for a 2001 civic si? i'm going to start a new thread explaining my setup
