Hey guys. i have an 97 dx with a d16y7 block with a z6 head all the wiring in my car is still 97 dx besides pcm. I recently got an 99 si front bumber i want to buy some fogs for it. Is there any way that they will still work? because i thought only 99-00 civics came with the plug in harness? is there still a way to make them work? with the harness that comes in the JDM footlights kit with the for light switch? Or does my 97 dx harness still have the plug and play for the for lights?

yeah the 99 civic fog lights will work on your 97 civic with harness that it brings...
99-00 civics dont come with factory harness's that are plug n play it comes together
when you get the foggies..correct me if im wrong

 

Are you talking about buying aftermarket fog light kits, or the OEM ones? if they're aftermarket like Depo then they come with all the wiring necessary, there will be no need to tap into your stock harness.

And i hope you have more then a 99-00 bumper, because you need the whole complete front end to make it fit.

 

i though any 96-00 front bumber civic coupe will fit?

no you need 99-00 bumper, hood, fenders and head lights. just get the needed fog lights for the 96-98 civic. they arent that bad.....

i have done a write up on here on how to install the 96-98 depo style fogs. its pretty simple.

 

so the an 98 ex bumper will not fit on my 97 dx ?

 

Any 96-98 Honda civic bumper will be interchangeable, but 99-00 civics are different. so yes a 98 ex bumper will fit your dx.
