i have a buddy who wants to see which car is faster.. i have a 94 GSR with well over 150k miles ( mods are: jdm dc, high flow cat, apex'i ws exhuast).. his car.. 2001 celica GTS with aem intake and tanabe RM exhuast.

i plan on doing a 50 mph roll on the freeway.

 

out of all honesty, I'd put my money on your friend's GT-S. 150,000 miles is alot of beating on your motor.


I have a friend with a 2001 GT-S and he ran a 14.7 with Intake and Pulleys only. I ran against him when I had CAI and Header and he beat me by 1/2 a car. He shifted at the fuel cut-off so he would land on the powerband.

It's more of a necessity for Celica owners because they can't afford to fall off the big cam.

He passes his redline and shift right at the fuel cut-off so he can land on the big cams. Makes a world of a difference for these Celica's.

 

I wouldn't go from 50mph. I have a friend that got a gts with intake and exhaust and he walked away from me pretty fast when we went from 60mph. I was kind of iffy about racing him off the line, but when we did go off the line I beat him by like 2 1/2 cars. At this time I had intake and header only in my 94, but hey maybe it depends on the driver

 

Honestly, I think this race would come down to driver error. Very close.

this one i gonna come down to the drivers. i raced a gts in my gsr and raped him by 4 cars. he must have really sucked at driving.

 

my car with 140k miles on it will smacks down every gts owner i have come across

i can hang with E36 m3s with i/e

dont underestimate obd1 early gsr's with high mileage

 

my 150k+ mile gsr still feels like it has plenty of power.. i've beatin accord v6's.. jetta 1.8t's, and a new 325i. i'll probably get a run with him this coming up monday when we go bowlin. btw.. i beat him at bowling
