just got a honda
hey i just bought an acura integra gsr not to long ago and im sorta on a budget and i was wondering if theres anything i could do to get a little more horse power let me know thanks alot
Well, make sure it's running it's optimum performance right now.
What I mean is do a simple tune up, clean your motor up, MAINTAIN IT, make sure there are no issues, the whole blahblahblah.
And there's the cheapest way (since it seems like you wanna go faster)....
WEIGHT REDUCTION, MAYNEEEEEEE.

if you are trying to make a quicker street car, weight reduction will not produce a noticable differnce. i say stick with the i/h/e. maybe some cams, an intake/throttle body. the upgrades are endless. if you are on a budget and can't afford a certain part, don't cheap out and buy junk. check the marketplace and see what you can find used for cheaper.

What are your goals for the car? A gsr is pretty decent speedwise from the start, have you thought on getting some nice suspension items and wheels?
But yeah, go I/H/E, with maybe a short-throw.

well id like to boost it. but definatly cams, cam gears and hondata tune. what do you think about that do you recommend it?
How much more hp gains are you looking for? and your budget? If your header and exhaust are stock, I would first look for a nice performance header and exhaust for more air flow and hp gains. A new air intake preferbably one design for higher air flow like the Iceman Intake or K&N. A skunk2 intake manifold also preforms much better than the stock one and is also a good choice if you're looking to do more to the engine. And like what one person said above, don't settle for cheap stuff/crap. It won't do your gsr any good.

Don't waste your money on bolt ons, unless you want the sound and the look. A new exhaust, intake and header will make the car sound and look nicer, but you really won't get a very big hp increase. The only way Hondas make power is thru forced induction. All motor you can make power, but it costs a lot of money, which is not what you seem to be interested in. I'd buy a nice suspension and some 16" wheels. You'll enjoy that way more than some bolt on parts.
That's probably the dumbest thing I've read all day in this forum.
I've seen all motor B series builds reach over 250whp. Of course that means a lot of $$ in parts and tuning. Id'd go with a good intake, header and exhaust system. Then move on to a better intake manifold, cams, valves/springs, port/polish. You could dump 2k into the block and do pistons/rods. You can keeping going but depends on how much your willing to dump into it. Goodluck with your build.
