95' JDM ITR bigger brakes
I recently bought a 95 JDM ITR. The front brakes look pretty puny for the car and I'd like to get bigger ones.
I'm not interested in aftermarket big brake kits, but would like to use bigger honda brakes without doing a 5 lug conversion.
Its the 4 lug setup, will Prelude brake discs and calipers fit it (are they 4 lug?) and are they much bigger or better than the standard itr ones?? Is it the old shape prelude brakes that fit it? (92-96)
Also, seeing as its a 1995, is there such a thing as 95 spec or does the car fall into the 96 spec category??

It is a 96 spec. The most common brake upgrades for 96 specs are Prelude BB4 front/rear rotors and 98 spec ITR (or any 5-lug ITR) calipers. This will make your brakes the same (disc size) as the 5-lug ITR brakes.
Thanks, will the prelude discs bolt straight on with no mods?? and the same with the 98 spec calipers??
So this should make the brakes the same as the 98 spec which are a fair bit better than 96 spec

Just double check the hub center bore. 92-96 Prelude VTEC front rotors have a 64mm centerbore and a 4x114.3mm pattern. (ITR 5x114.3mm front rotors have a 70mm centerbore.) The rotor is 23mm thick and 282mm in diameter. If the centerbore is the same, they should bolt on with the new calipers.
Does anyone know if this conversion will require the front calipers brackets to be machined by 2mm like for the non-ITR version of this?

I used prelude vtec rotors with usdm 5lug front calipers and they were bolt ons, if you use jdm caliper brakets you will need to machine them. For the rears 92 accord rotors and 5lug type r calipers usdm or jdm will get you the same sized brakes front and rear as a 5 lug r but stay 4 lug, all bolt on. I dont think you will find the info about the rear anywere, I spent a few nights with many parts for that one.
