If the complete strut is already loose, then all you have to do is get a buddy to push down on the rear disc to push the arm down so that the strut clears the rotor and comes out.

do you have rear disc?

this is what im stuck on right rear

the fronts was easy and done in 45mins or so

no matter how hard i step on the rotor it moves but to get the strut out nothing happens. also if i do get it out this way its going to be worst to put the aftermarket ones in.

all of the diys ive seen is all drums

You have the right idea. I had the same problem. I got a spring compressor and compressed the springs, so the total height would be shorter... The way i took it out was the bottom of the assembly out first.

Also I noticed that some of the brake lines were in the way, so i had to remove some brackets that was in the way. If you think you can remove it, go ahead and remove it. It will make your life a whole lot better.

Also, it might also help removing the bottom strut/shock bolt from the LCA on both sides of the car. That way the suspension can go down even further and might provide some extra space.

just have a heavy person step on the rear drums. then its pretty much wiggling to get it out of there.

I had the same problem as well.

I got all of mine out with a friend stepping on the brake and a lot of wiggling and pulling.

However, it sounds like your one of the unlucky ones who can't do that.

I agree with The Kid on moving things around (brake lines, brackets) and unhooking things to get more wiggle room. I know I had to move a thing or two myself at least a little to get one or two of my shocks out.

Good luck!

looks like if you rent a spring compressor and compress those springs you should get an extra couple inches off the length of the unit.

lol.. i had this same problem.. push it back up into the hole above.. then push the discs down.. getting the bottom off first.. and then you should be able to maneuver it out..

You have to swing the drum out of the way to my understanding. That Upper camber arm in the rear is actually really easy to remove for space. 2 bolts upper and lower but it looks like you have a cover over your upper bolt so 3 bolts all together and that thing is gone for extra clearance to remove your strut assembly. You'll have to take a hammer to the upper arm slightly just to remove from being bolted in for so long. Make sure you have a torque wrench handy to reassemble it according to spec. Peace

yeah i took out the upper camber arm and got it done it was even worst for the left side. i guess the rear swaybar makes a big headache when doing suspensions.

thanks on the help guys. after i was done the next day i cleaned up in there and paint and put on the 19s axis meshII's.
