i was wondering the same. how much dd it cost and does the company warranty it? I found the VIS on NOPI for 470 or so and it says factory latch ( hood pins reqd for safety.
I dont want something that looks like a piece of paper in the wind at 60 if you know what I mean.

I got a c/f hood with no hood pins. Had it like that for 2 years now and it is all good. Once had the car up to 120 and the hood was shaking violently. At 90 it is pretty stable and I don't really go that fast anyways. Mine is just a cheapo c/f hood. Also when riding behind 18 wheelers it seems to shake more than normal. I try to stay away from big rigs anyway

I say just get the hood pins because I have seen many posts on here about people who got the cf hoods with the factory latches and while they were on the highway, the hood came open and flew completely off of the car. Hood pins are like 14-20 dollars and it's worth it for the safety of knowing your hood won't fly off the car anyway and cause you more money. I say go with the pins unless you want to take the chance or really want that clean look. I'm not saying they fly off all the time, but I have definatly read many posts where they did.
Also, do you guys know which one is lighter, Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass?

I have been running my VIS for around 2 years now as well and I have no problems with it even at high speeds (up to 140.... dont ask) and it is all good

i have a VIS SIR hood for my 90 civic and i dont use pins....and its fine and dandy......same goes for a buddy of mine who has a VIS CF hood on his 99-00 hatch....both hood are nice and stable at high speeds on the freeway
it depends on ur confidence of the install or how lucky u are..but if u have ur doubts, right now, id either get pins or a hood lock..then there s those who like to steal all good **** uve put on ur car too, something else to think about too..
I have a VIS hood on my 96 Coupe. No problems whatsoever, very stable. You just need to attach the rubber liner on the front of the hood. The VIS Hood already has the holes drilled.

I am thinking hammer head aviation, or the fibre images, anybody got a site for the fiber images?? The reason for no pins is a clean look. I am going to paint the hood on the outsides for the blend...
i have a VIS hood and a old school imoto hood. both dont have hood pins. the pins are actually ment for safety. really dont need them. its recomended but dont need. ive had an imoto hood for 4 years now and still no hood pins. ive just got the vis hood about 3 months ago and still no pins.
