rebuild gasket sets 3
im trying to get some money together and i want to rebuild the motor which is a b16a2. my question is what complete gasket kit should i get? oem kit is 195 shipped, ebay is 60 shipped , and then theres felpro from autozone or discount auto. also on the valve seat seals what material does oem honda and felpro use? the ebay ones say they are viton valve seals so would that be better?
OEM for sure. It's what I used on my rebuild and never looked back. OEM seals lasted for 204k miles on my EF and I never had leaks until the head gasket let go (original). Not to mention I ran the crap of that car daily.

i think you're talking about the valve guide seals. not to call you out, i just want to help other readers avoid confussion.
my opinion, if you're taking the time to rebuild a motor yourself, don't skimp on the vitals like quality seals and gaskets. get the honda set (or an aftermarket set by OE manufacturers, but that takes some research...) you won't have to worry about it for a long time.

yeah i hear ya but i dunno whats the problem with my car only 84k and ive been burning oil, and my car smeels like burning oil after a long period of driving, the prvious owner said he used only synthetic so used that for about 2 oil changes then switched to semi blend, and i dunno what to do if i drive hard ill go through 1qt for 1k miles, and i have no leaks only the front seal i believe becuase i do have some oil around the crank pulley area from what my friend told me, other than that bad pcv maybe? it runs hard and all so i dunno
