GPS Navi Code given by Honda Not Working!
I bought a Civic with in an auction and brought it to my country El Salvador, got the codes from Honda but the navi code 1252 doesnīt work I called again and they got in touch with ALPINE and they said the code i was given in the begginning was correct and was supposed to work and was advised to take the car to a dealer but i cant in my country since they dont support it.
I tried disconnecting the antenna from the back of the system and the problem persisted. Do you think there is a chance that they do not have the codes updated on their database? It really does not seem like a hardware problem since I was able to perform different system diagnostics including the navi ecu test, and they all were satisfactory, I even reloaded the software from the navi CD. It drives me crazy not being able to use the Stereo, i donīt care about the GPS function. Please help!!!!

Alpine? Honda Factory Nav is Alpine?
If you really wanted, you could remove the Nav unit and put in a regular radio unit.

i had the same problem; the code the dealer gave me didn't work. i don't have a warranty so taking the car to the dealer wasn't an option. i ended up finding a guy through 8thcivic.com who works for honda and gave me a code that worked. i have no idea why the dealer was giving me the wrong code; i called 2 different dealers along with american honda, and they all gave me the same wrong code. yay for the internet
Finally I see someone with my problem, do you have this guyīs contact? Someone in 8thCivic.com is going to give me a code but has not replied yet, his nick is 07_FG_4Dr_S.i. I would appreciate if you would provide me more info.
The thing about the Navi code is that it updates on a daily/weekly basis, so it depends, i know when they take it to the dealer it has to be hooked up to the HDS and they do it through there. But yea contact the dude from 8thcivic.com since hes a tech there and can probably get you the correct code.

I got it from 2 different places and It was the same, from the diagnostics screen and also from the back of the navi unit, there is nothing in the trunk or glove box or fuse cover, there is a person who had the same problem and found someone from a honda factory who helped him, He was being given the same code all the time
what you can do is call our tech support department. 800-999-1009
they'll get your manufacturers and serial number and everything when you call.. then theyll call the original manufacturers and get the radio code for you..

Yes, it is the Navi/stereo Unit...I have called the tech support, and they called the manufacturer they said, but supossedly they gave the same code. Is there any chance that the system is messed up? And if its... can it get fixed?
Its a system with a Navi Unit and Stereo, so I do not have separated units. It is the XM enabled system, I cant get in the stereo without getting the navi code correct... there was only one serial # and part# for the system
Now, please check this situation. I am outside U.S, I bought my car at an U.S. aution and brought it to my country, and transferred ownership with the Honda representative, the car has 21000 miles on it. Does any warranty apply to this car? It was involved in a small wreckage... anyways i canīt take the car to U.S, I am planning to travel from South America this year and could take the gps unit... do you know how much will they charge me for this or if it has any warranty?
AHM only deals with Canada for warranty transfers,
if taken to any other country, the vehicle becomes a grey market vehicle and no warranties apply. The best thing for you to do. would be either
1. call alpine and see what they can do if you send it out to them.. cost of repairs is gonna come out of your own pocket.
2. buy an aftermarket stereo/radio then sell me the unit..
just kidding.

It would not work for you anyways! Unless for parts... I might sell it if I donīt get it fixed... or trade it for a nice stereo that allows me to use the control buttons.
It sucks that i wont be able to use all the nice voice features and stuff... Ill try to call Alpine... I could pay for a working code... Anyone???? I could send money trough Paypal!!

After struggling trying to get the code from anybody who could access Honda databases and everybody gave me code 1252 wich did not work, I found a license plate frame with a logo of the possible original dealer inside the trunk, I called them, provided my vin# and in less than 5 seconds they gave me a completely different code wich let me in the system, and I had no need of this second radio code American Honda gave me when I called. So I guess the "Internal Error" I was diagnosed by most people in the forum, and also from American Honda tech support was not right, but a complete mismatch in Honda Database was causing my headache. Fortunately I was able to find the original dealer and get the antitheft code from them, so if the code you get from American Honda does not unlock your GPS don`t panic your unit is not messed up as they might suggest, is that their database is not updated!

Anybody knows a Honda Tech who could help me??
