Default B16A2 all motor build. The track project.

So what...

Im 17 and i´m building my very first car now, I´ve buying parts for almost one year and this winter (yeah, winter down here) i will be puting it all together.

The car is going to be a daily driven, but the aim of the project is track racing.

I would love to build an LSV or a GSR but we don´t have this kind of engine here.. Only some very rare and expensive B20's...

I don´t have too much money availiable, and as importing parts to brazil SUCK it will be some kind of a budget build...

The car has arround 80k miles on it

The project is based on the following parts (NOW I HAVE 100% OF THE PARTS)

Head
-Port polish
-BLOX Springs
-KMS Steel retainers
-BLOX tuner B spec cams
-Adjustable cam gears
-New guides and retainers
-OEM Head Gasket
-New OEM head bolts

Block
-EAGLE crank 84.7mm
-EAGLE H Beam Rods
-Custom Arias pistons 81.5mm 11.6 CR
-ARIAS OEM rings
-Bronzinas ACL race .25 over
-OEM Oil pump with mods
-New GMB water pump
-Block ARP studs

Intake
-Hayabusa ITB´s
-750cc Siemens injectors
-MSD Fuel pump 286lph in tank

Exhaust
-4x1 Inox header
-2,5" exhaust

Ignition
-MSD spark cables
-Iridium IX sparks
-MSD Blaster SS coil
-MSD dist. cover
-MSD Rotor

Drivetrain
-Displato clutch
-New transmission retainers
-OEM flywheel lightened 2kg

Tune
-Chipped P08
-EcTune
-Wideband 24/7

Others
-Light crank pulley
-Eristic gaskets
-Gates radiator hoses
-Energy bushings
-Fremax rotors
-EBC Yellow pads
-No AC
-No rear interior
-Gates t-belt
-4 point roll cage
-Dunlop direzza tires

The car will be lightwheitened but nothing so extreme... No interior, no AC, no unusefull stuff...

By the end of the year I will be going to USA and then Ill bring to brazil a full ferrea valvetrain with some pro 2+ cams, but untill there, Ill be runing this blox setup..

So what you guys think? Should I add or remove something?
What kind of header do you suggest me?
I´m aiming for 180whp with the blox B and somewhere close to 200, 205whp with the future Pro 2+ upgrade...

Ill post some pics this week and through all build

oh, BTW the car is an '97 EK4..

see ya

You have a lot of expensive parts for a budget build. Since your goal is 180whp you can easily get that with an OEM bottom end. There are a few items in your build that you can save on and go with an alternative that will net you your goal. 800cc injectors are kind of much. You can just throw some P30's or CTR's on stock rods in your bottom end. Stick with the stock IM and save from doing ITB's; just go with a larger TB like a 65mm.

Check out this build.

Well, I ment 'budget build' because I can´t afford a fully built race car.. I'm not planing on selling my parts as the stroker kit was a great deal, as sticking with 1.6 is pointless...

I had some PCTs, but I sold it for a good price and as soon as i open the engine, I can sell my crank and rods for a good price too.

About the ITBs, well, there is a reason I want to try them... None has done before here in brazil in a B-series. And I would really like to show that it is doable. And besides that, a friend of mine, suggested me to help projecting and beta testing his ITBs, so it would not be that expensive.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT if this doesn´t work out, I´ll probably go with a 66mm or bigger TBI. Do you have any complains on those "cheap" bodies?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PROFE...Q5fAccessories

the 800cc woulb be a must since ill be running Ethanol, and ITBs, but if I stay with the stock many, than Ill look for something in the 600cc range.

Thank you so much

My apologies I thought he was building a B20.

What is the length of those rods? Wouldn't you be out of the hole with stock length b16 rods and an 84mm crank?

Edit: According to Zeal you would be 0.108" out of the hole.

well, actually i got this used stroker kit out from a b16a2 so I´m sure il be fine with clearances.

Assuming I forgot the ITB idea, what kind of cheap injectors i can use? It has to be 50lbs+ and handle ethanol

Am I the only one who caught 800cc injs? You'll be fine with the stock 240cc's for 180

Ethanol.... And in theory ITBs, but i believe theywill take some time to be ready..

Just FYI, i have a friend running a b16a with ctr pistons + bc stage 2 cams, and his 450cc are maxed out @ Ethanol

Whoever tuned your friends car must not know how to scale injectors if 450's are maxxed at 10.8:1 cr

hahaha, dude you serious? I would pay you the tickets if you are.

@NAcoupeNA

Believe me, the guy who tunned his car is my friend, and probably the best tunner we have in brazil... And 90% of the engines built here run E85 so we have alot of knoledge about it.

BTW, I am in big trouble right now, my stroker kit is stuck in the customs, I believe ill have to spend some money to get it into my hands

Believe me, E85 requires much more fuel...

I´ve seen NA 1.6L with 11:1 CR maxing out 560cc injectors

should I use zero gap rings? how hard it is to set them properly?
