Hi, I purchased this 00 Accord 4cyl. lx automatic from my wife's parents who had bought the vehicle new. 118,000 miles at the time. The timing belt was done and also the trans. fluid changed. The first four months after 5k miles, it shifted perfectly. However in the past six months it is not wanting to go out of low 1 for the first two to ten minutes - after that initial period its fine. Also the green square around the gear (D) will blink instead of be solid. This winter I warmed the vehicle up 10-15 minutes and it didn't seem as bad; now in may its definately not a cold climate. Ultimately, my question is can this be something as simple as the correct fluid -honda fluid -was not used when filter and fluid were changed? This car was well maintained and never drove roughly. Or am I witnessing the slow death of this tranny?
