Battery Fuse Keeps Blowing
Did a engine swap from 92 integra into my sons civic. He blew up the motor this past weekend but we have found another 92 integra in really nice shape for New England that is supposed to have a blown tranny for short money. I went to look at it last nite but wanted to hear it run before laying out the $.
Long story short is it blows out the battery fuse as soon as battery is hooked up. I believe the only wires that are not protected by lower amp fuses are the alternator and the wire to the cab (under dash) fuse box. This is obviously a major short so if I can trace those two wires I should be able to find it unless there is some other unprotected wireing that I'm not aware of.
Going to try and go over after my son gets off work and hunt this problem down but wanted to verify my theory

not that you dont know already but make sure the negative and positive are on the right terminals (easy to confuse if cables been replaced and both are same color).
when i was putting my engine back in i kept blowing that same fuse until u realized the boot wasn't over the alternator cable and it was grounding out.

Thanks guys, the kid who owned it is NOT mechanicaly inclined but is doing an internship through the local high school with a local garage so he got it towed over there. He had completely drained the battery then reverse charged it so the pos terminal was neg. They figured it out and put in a different battery and new fuse and it runs like a champ. We have started to pull the motor to do tranny swap and things look good
