Hey, whats up everyone i got a b20vtec built with p28 chipped ecu when i got the car everything was fine it would run good and everything it had a launch control set @ 4 rpm now i am having trouble going over 4 rpm on all gears. I checked my cat it was fine i tried searching couldnt find any help. If anyone can help me solve this problem that would be great.

is there any CEL? does the car run fine until 4000rpm?

 

yeah i just got this on my car also but it wont pass 3500 i got CEL code 4 meaning cps sensor inside the distributor since im running obd2 to obd1 jumper and then it suddenly went away today while i started it up

Does your car bog the whole way up to 4k?

 

does your car feel like its just hitting launch control at 4rpm all the time? i know launch control is operated off of your speed sensor. is your speedo working?

That's what am about to say too. If it is it's VSS conection or VSS itself.

 

yeah thats how mine feels,i think the ecu goes in limp mode

and what obd are you running?

 

i am running, i think its OBD2 to OBD1 92-95 civic p28 ecu

 

It sounds like an ignition issue, spark is getting cut off for some reason. I would try disconnecting the launch control completely and see what happens.

 

how do i disconnect the launch control? ill take somepictures of the ECU lets see

 

There is CEL couldnt find the harness to hook up obd reader, ill post ecu pics

 

ok i have a ? my car revs up to 3 grand n dont go know higher its a b18b obd1 it gotta rought start to now but when disconect my dis wires it cranks fine what is goin on with this

what yr is your ride if its obd 1 the underneath the dash near the glove box the is a 2 wire pluge that you have to pull down on some time its in a ruber green cover. jump the 2 wire plug and count the number of blinks for the check engin light.
