I've been hearing rumors that Honda made a block off plate for the early Insights that do not use cruise control. They use the same wheel as the AP1 and come out with some kind of block off plate, so I hear. I can not find pictures of it anywhere and on Majestic and other online catalogs, nothing is showing up.

Anyone know a part number or any info on this?

What exactly are you trying to "block off"? The controls on the steering wheel?

 

I removed my cruise control buttons and now there is an open gap exposing the bracket and everything else inside the wheel. But, I found out that this block off piece that I'm referring to is, actually, the whole entire cover. On the Insight, it is different and there is no cut out for the CC buttons. So I will have to buy an Insight wheel cover and replace mine so there is no more gap for the buttons.

Hard to explain but I know what I need to do now.

 

Makes sense... Let us know how it turns out. Seems like it would be a popular mod for those guys who remove the CC.

 

im thread jacking eric's thread... does anybody know if the rear defroster switch block off plate works for the cruise control button?

 

Will do. A lot of people would also consider this who have civics or other Honda's that have this steering wheel without the CC.
