Default 96-98 civic engine harness diff.??

I'm putting a OBD1 GSr in my 97 dx EK. It has the blox mani is the only difference from a stock GSR. I will be running a S100 P28 ecu with a jumper harness. here is my problem. I went to go buy a 96 civic EX manual engine harness and it had an extra plug up by the drivers side shock tower. That was the only real difference i could see. He said once i buy it, its mine. There is no extra connector on the car except for that 1 wire thing with the cover over it. Anyone, know what this is for? dont want to but this thing and then be some weird harness that wont work. I searched but could not find anything like this.
Thanks
Rick

Can't you use your 97 dx harness instead of buying a new one? Or are you saying that your car is automatic right now?

I was going to say the same thing. But I don't know the differences between 2a and 2b harnesses so I didn't say anything.

car is obd2a. I sold the dx harness with the stock swap. the obd2b cars have the "A" harness as part of the inside cabin harness and the obd2a cars hae it as part of the engine harness. Just trying to figure out what this extra plug is.

Quite frankly I wouldn't worry about it. The EX harness will work fine, I wouldn't be too concerned.
