ecu readiness codes
So i'm swapping my obd2 ecu back in my car for inspection and I know there are readiness codes that have to settle based on all loads of driving. So my question is how long would it take. Some people have said as long as two days.
Yeah, Here at the dealership, sometimes, I have to drive the cars home myself. 60 mile roundtrip. I keep the diagnostic tablet hooked up and I can see the ECU executing the tests. It does the cat moniter, evap, and EGR (which are the problem ones) at around 65 mph, steady throttle, for at least 1/2 mile. But the car must be started cold them warmed up before you get on the interstate. Honda calls it a drive cycle. Once the car warms up and does not complete the test, It has to be started cold all over again to start another drive cycle. Good luck!

I just got a new CR-V -- about 150 miles.
The engine light is complaining that the readiness tests have not yet completed.
Key on engine off: engine light on for 20 seconds, starts blinking.
Start car: engine light goes off and stays off.
I read the owners manual which states that the car has not finished it's readiness tests. I do understand what this means. How long should it take for the new hondas to complete the readiness tests? The dealer service writer said "wait about 500 miles. If the engine light isn't on while the car is running, don't worry about it."
That's not such bad advice. I just got out of a Passat since there was always something serious and expensive going on with that car.
I bought the honda so I get to experience "don't worry about it."
