obdI/obdII alternator problem! pictures included!
i recently bought 00' gsr motor that im in the process of swapping in my93 civic. the problems that im having is that i have a converted obdI harness and two plugs are my concern. one, the alternator, which i think is an obd2 has a square outlet and since the obd1 harness has a green circle plug, it wont fit. i took the alternator from my single cam and swapped it with the obd2 alternator. will the single cam alternator comply with the gsr motor?
secondly, theres a plug next to the pulley which im thinkin its the crank angle sensor. do i need that?
heres the CAS plug

here the obd2 alternator the wont co-op with this obd1 harness plug

and heres the obd1 single cam alternator witch co-ops perfectly. CAN I USE THIS ALTERNATOR FOR THE GSR?

The alternator probably won't bolt up. I think its close tho. Just use an obd1 B series alternator or cut an obd2 alternator plug off and splice it onto the obd1 harness.
The plug in the pic is the CKF. Crank fluctuation sensor. OBD1 ECU's don't look for it IIRC.

then would my cel be on ? can i bypass that sensor?
If the ECU doesn't look for it then it won't throw a CEL. If you are using an obd1 harness and there is no clip on it for that then just leave it as is. I am running obd2 so I had to hook it up. But I'm pretty sure it doesn't look for it.

As mentioned the CFS is not needed in OBD1 cars, as the ecu is not looking for it. Also you can either get on OBD1 B series alternator, or get an OBD2 alternator plug and splice it in. Good luck!
you dont need to splice anything you can remove the voltage regulator from the obd1 alternator and install it on the obd2 alternator, very easy to do just pop off the tin cover and unscrew it.
