I recently put my car for sale on carolinahondas.com and a guy told me that my car was pretty rare. I was just wondering if anyone knew how many 98 white rs's were made and how rare it really is. Thanks in advance

 

i thought they didnt make RS for 98+ in the U.S.
In Canada there are tons of them, hell we got 1999 Type R's

 

rs were sold in the u.s. up to 98. they actually are pretty rare compared to all the other trims.

 

looked on autotrader and searched for white 98+ integras and it bought up 20 matches in the whole country and only one of them was an RS. If any one wants to trade for a swaped civic coupe or hatch let me know!!!

 

why do you want to trade for a civic? the integra shouldn't be much heavier, if at all, than a civic and looks much better. before i bought my white 99 gsr i really tried to find a white 98 rs and couldn't; had to settle for the gsr instead.

 

i really want a faster car so i figured if i could trade for a swaped civic it would save me alot of money and time. integras do look really good and they are great cars overall but i just want somehing diffrent. ive been offered a couple of SOHC hatches and a 97 audi A4. but i got my mind set on a civic so i'll see what else im offered if i cant find anyhing worth it then ill keep it

 

the thing with swapped trades is that you just never know
my boy was looking at an RB25 swapped S13 240sx. since the RHD harness had to be modded to fit in the right footwell there was a HUGE mess of wiring running across the firewall, it was loomed so we didnt see it off the bat.

when we got under it is when everything made sense. the motor mounts werent bolted down to spec. the turbo mani was just hammered towards the block to fit the turbo in (as opposed to massaging the body of the car to fit it) the turbo itself had no gaskets, just a bunch of (ironically) hondabond around it
it was a mess.
not saying that every honda swap is a ball of fail, just that it takes time, money and determination to swap engines the right way.

 

i guess you just got to know what to look for, recipets are always a plus also. i can always get someone who knows what to look for to ride with me to check out a swaped car.

 

i would never buy a swapped car. unless i did the work myself, i wouldn't trust it.

I got a swapped hatch and trust me;
usually you don't swap a hatch to go grocery shopping, and pickup dry cleaning

the bad about a swapped car is that it probably got raped for a while you never know what you get

stick with your RS it's the lightest of the teggies

you guys are making some good points. should i keep it or should i try to find a clean 94 gsr to trade for so i dont have to go through emmisions? (im in nc)

 

I would definititely try to find a car with an upgraded engine from the factory i.e. em1, gsr, that way you don't have to deal with emissions, etc.

 

check ur vin. the last few numbers on the vin should let u know what number u have out of an amount that was produced.

 

I'd look more into that before taking his word on it. Maybe you can find out from an Acura dealership. But I really don't think the VIN has anything to do with the car other then determining the chasis code. JH4DC(2)(4). DC2 being an ITR or GS-R and DC4 being LS, RS, GS, SE trims.

 

What is the point of sellling your Integra to get another one? Same chassis and same family motor wise. I would get a full swap 98+ gsr or type R if you have the funds. With the B18c1/5 or b18c sir-g/type R, you'll be fast enough with mild upgrades. I have a 95 Rs, and aslo a b18c1 engine rebuilding it with itr cams, supertech vt,Rs machine type r pistons/valves. Hoping for 180+ whp! And JDM type R front and USDM 15in Gunmetal 5 lugs.

 

i know about the dc2 and dc4 thing. its a dc4. the last four numbers on the vin is 2552.
