gota 91 si hatch, and just looking to do a used engine swap for cheap, was looking at going to the junkyard and picking up a used a6. And a buddy of mine told me that for the same price i could pick up a jdm sohc zc obdo engine and would bolt right up to the si trans without any wiring or anything and get a little bit more power. Is this true, everything just a drop in and go with no mods or wiring needed?

They're practically the same engine.

 

Agreed!!! had more than one of both and they're a real close match, imo the zc is SLIGHTLY stronger, and i realy mean slightly. I'm pretty sure... and anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but the only difference is the cam.

both have 90mm stroke and 75mm bore
i think the exhaust cam profile is slightly more agressive in the zc
